Perhaps it’s worth putting a little more time into your website. I’m interested in having a look-see. What’s the url for it?

Remember, for today’s technology based writers, being creative and writing high quality content is only half the job. The other half is marketing yourself etc. Yes it’s hard, but it’s a lot easier than if you were a writer starting out in 1940 and your only hope was to be published in a newspaper.

If you remember we connected in early December, funnily enough we were talking about Medium Stats then as well, but for some reason I distinctly remember when I followed you at that time you had about 270 followers. So there’s a little insight for you, you’ve gained at least 200 followers in a bit over a month, almost double your following.

As I’ve touched on in our previous conversation, I don’t ascribe much meaning to stats here on Medium, but rather try to add meaning to my words by saturating them with my own experience. I want to hear more about Vico and the fact that he’s not a native English speaker. I like to learn about different cultures and perspectives because I lack that experience and haven’t lived that life.

Create a culture around yourself and that’s where I believe you’ll find your ‘stats’. I want to read more about the Vico Biscotti culture. And that’s also possibly why having your own website outside of Medium is important, because it’s your own island on which to build your community. It’s something I’m looking into currently and I’m approaching it in the form of Patreon as it’s already got community features built in and looks like a good place to establish a home base and build my culture.

Anyways, those are my thoughts on the matter. Just keep writing, is the main thing. Who knows, maybe you’ll break through that 1k followers in another months time!

Perhaps the greatest gift that we can give to each other is a greater understanding of ourselves.
