I’ve had that thought numerous times but you’re the first I’ve found whose articulated it. I also use writing as a tool for reflection, and, although my initial posts have been quite long and ill-matched to Mediums preferred content length, I persevere because of the incredible value I’ve obtained from putting them down in a coherent form.
I really relate to what you wrote about working to evolve your style from raw streams of thoughts to essays that are more universal and appropriate to the general readership.
Thankfully I have the self-awareness to realize that I’m not going to be a great writer just by putting my own thoughts down — but, in my opinion, it’s an important part of becoming one.
